UC Irvine Humanities Gateway

About the Project

The Humanities Gateway project is a four-level building with instructional and support space, a film screening room and an auditorium. Metaphysically, the Humanities Building resembles a geode–solid and uniform on the outside, undulating, brilliant and active on the inside. The project includes designated space for instructional research, general assignment classrooms, academic and administrative office space, testing rooms for the campus Disability Service Center, a 127-seat lecture hall and a 990-seat file screening room.
