About the Project
The modernization of this facility includes a new ESD epoxy flooring system throughout (the floor is half ESP and half non-ESP) the high bay and refurbishment of the existing air handling units to support a Class 100,000 clean work environment. A new 4,200-SF, 63-inch-tall (roof) Class 10,000 cleanroom was constructed inside the high bay. Upgrades were made to the existing plumbing, electrical, and communication systems. A new dedicated Air Handling Unit (AHU) was installed. A new infrastructure for the high-pressure fluids was set up to support the Class 10,000 cleanroom, two vehicle work stands, and ancillary support areas within the high bay. The former space shuttle communications and tracking room was renovated and now serves as the Secure Terminal Equipment (STE) room, complete with raised access flooring and STC 50 partitions.
