The HENSEL PHELPS New Correctional Facility for SCI Benner Township project receives the 2013 Correctional Facilities, National Design-Build Award from the Design Build Institute of America.
The architectureal partner for this project was Moseley Architects. The campus includes nine inmate housing units at 32,008 square feet each, a 40,671-square-foot unit and a 15,307-square-foot unit; a 23,255-square-foot outside administration facility; an 18,890-square-foot security administrative building; a 24,570-square-foot health services facility; a 24,273-square-foot dietary services facility; a 49,810-square-foot laundry facility; a 31,200-square-foot maintenance shop; and a 67,261-square-foot multi-use building. The 629,573-square-foot project is designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
