Supported by a longstanding mentor-protégé partnership with Hensel Phelps, Haynes-Eaglin-Waters, LLP (HEW) recently announced completion of the Advanced Individual Training (AIT) Battalion Headquarters. Housing the 232nd Medical Battalion at Fort Sam Houston, the $4 million, 14,567 SF facility is the first notable project that HEW has completed as a general contractor, and also their first award under the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) development program. Cloteal Haynes, partner in this minority-owned, woman-owned business, describes the AIT Headquarters project as a “major milestone for HEW,” and credits the strong working relationship between HEW, Hensel Phelps, design partner Jacobs Engineering, and the Army Corps of Engineers as key to overcoming challenges for a successful project completion.
