Hensel Phelps has been awarded the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority’s (MWAA) Rail Yard and Maintenance Facility that will serve the DC metropolitan area’s newest Metrorail route – the Silver Line.
This $253 million Rail Yard and Maintenance Facility will be located on the grounds of Washington Dulles International Airport in Loudoun County, Virginia. Construction will commence in early 2015. This will be Hensel Phelps’ ninth project on Dulles Airport property. Additionally, this will be the third rail yard facility that Hensel Phelps’ Mid Atlantic District has worked on in the past 10 years, having renovated the Greenbelt, Shady Grove and New Carrollton rail yards for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).
Hensel Phelps appreciates the opportunity to continue this important Client relationship with MWAA and WMATA, the project’s end user.
