Congratulations to the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Terminal East Infill project (ABIA TEIP) team for winning the 2015 Outstanding Construction Award (Category: Design-Build 3 over $30 million).
Design-build relies heavily on team dynamic, and the project can easily succeed or fail, depending on how it is put together. The ABIA TEIP team consisted of members from ABIA, the City of Austin Department of Aviation, Page and Hensel Phelps. Working together over the years, these teams have formed the synergy required to deliver a successful project with an outstanding design.
The AGC Outstanding Construction Awards acknowledge the nation’s most impressive construction projects. To win the award, the ABIA TEIP design-build team produced a building that met challenges, showed excellence in project management, innovated construction techniques and materials, used state-of-the-art technologies, contributed to the Austin community, and provided a level of service that is second to none.
The ABIA TEIP is a model project that has set the standard for how design-build projects should be measured for success. The project will now be entered into the AGC Texas Building Branch (TBB) Awards to be a contender for projects across Texas. Once again, congratulations to the entire team on bringing home this prestigious and well-deserved award.
