For the seventh year, Hensel Phelps has been awarded the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National Diversity Excellence Award in the General Contractor – Over $33 Million category. The award recognizes Hensel Phelps’ dedication to small business outreach and achieving the highest possible level of diverse business inclusion on each of the projects our company undertakes.
Brad Lewis, Corporate Director of Supplier Diversity, credits our project teams who implement our corporate commitment to small business and help foster a healthy, competitive local business community where we all can thrive.
“It is an honor to accept this award on behalf of Hensel Phelps. It is no surprise to me that we have won this award seven times. Credit goes to our project teams who are committed to increasing the capacity of our small businesses. As a large general contractor, it is our responsibility to grow the future large businesses,” said Lewis.
The winning companies, selected from entries submitted from across the nation, were judged based on the diversity of the company: a focus on diversity in hiring practices, training and retention, and contractor/vendor relationships, among other criteria. The award ceremony was held in Long Beach, CA during the 2019 ABC Convention.
