Hensel Phelps’ 1144 15th Street Office Building project has swept a number of awards in 2018. These awards include three from Engineering News-Record (ENR): Project of the Year, Office/Retail/Mixed-Use Development Best Project, and Excellence in Safety; three from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC): EIC Mega Project Winner, Project of the Year, and Enterprise Winner; and the Associated General Contractors (AGC) ACE Award for Construction Excellence: General Contractor – Best Building Project, Over $70M.
As the fourth tallest office building in downtown Denver, the 1144 15th Street project is a significant addition to Denver’s evolving skyline. The collaborative project team included Hines, the owner and Pickard Chilton and Kendall/Heaton Associates, the lead architectural design firms.
The LEED Gold, 42-story tower provides approximately 708,000 SF of Class A office space on 27 floors and 477,000 SF of parking, located on two below-grade and eleven above-grade parking levels for a total of 840 parking spaces. Clad in high-performance glass and aluminum curtain wall, the tower’s office floors feature minimum 10-foot floor-to-ceiling glass providing dramatic views of the Rockies and the Denver Metro Area.
Hensel Phelps achieved a zero-incident rate on this project with 30 different trades and 400 workers on-site at peak and a total of more than 1.4 million work-hours.
The ultimate success of this landmark project would not have been achieved without the collaborative partnership of all team members, including the owner, the architects, the A/E team and our multiple key trade partners. Congratulations to all!
