The Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) in Menlo Park, California, has awarded to Hensel Phelps’ Services Group a Transition to Stabilized Occupancy (TSO) and Facility Management (FM) Services contract for the Science and User Support Building (SUSB) that was designed and built by the Construction Group in the Northern California District.
The Services Group provides SLAC with technical solutions to transition the operation of the facility, establishes facility consistency and excellence in operations, and lays the groundwork for SLAC’s facility to perform at an optimized level. Hensel Phelps’ TSO delivers a combination of owner/tenant advocacy services and technical services that are customized to the needs of the SUSB. The owner advocacy services look at the facility with an ownership viewpoint, developing organizational processes for stabilized operations. Technical services develop a strong base for operational efficiency; combining maintenance, risk management and performance optimization programs. This combination of an owner mindset and technical expertise significantly reduces operational risks and life-cycle costs while improving tenant/occupant satisfaction. As the delivery of TSO services is completed, FM services will be provided to operate and maintain the facility over the next year. Mark Puchalski, Director of Technical Services, will lead the team in the performance of this contract for SLAC.
