The competition held by Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center engaged the world’s best contractors and designers to deliver the best value for patients, physicians, and the community of South County. Teams were required to submit their key personnel, schedule, cost components and technical solutions on key aspects of the project, as well as go through an extensive interview process for selection. “Our team is honored to have been chosen as the design-build team to deliver this world-class hospital to the South County region,” stated Hensel Phelps’ Project Executive Damian Buessing. Groundbreaking for the project is expected in late 2016, with the grand opening anticipated in the fall of 2019.
“As an organization, Sharp HealthCare is committed to the future of South County by providing the best place for patients to receive care, the best place for physicians to practice medicine and the best place for employees to work in Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center,” said Mike Murphy, President and CEO of Sharp HealthCare.
“We take great pride in designing and building state-of-the-art facilities which place the needs of the patients, physicians, and the overall community at the forefront. We look forward to our partnership with the Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center and the South County community,” said Cuyler McGinley, Southern California Vice President, Hensel Phelps.
